Toyota’s GR86 is all-new for 2022. Developed in conjunction with the Subaru BRZ, the GR86 is a 2+2 rear-wheel-drive sports car that’s ready for the track but won’t break the bank.
Featuring a 2.4L horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine, the GR86’s 228 HP (167 kW) motor will reach a top speed of 225 km/h and boasts a 0-100 km/h of 6.3 seconds.
Available with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic with paddle shifter transmission, the GR86 will suit any driver’s tastes.
Just because this car can tear around the track on the weekend, it doesn’t mean it’s missing safety and comfort features for an everyday driver. A large 8″ (20.3 cm) infotainment touchscreen comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity built-in. The base models have a 6-speaker setup, while the premium models boast an 8-speaker setup. The automatic transmission models include driver safety features such as pre-collision braking, pre-collision throttle management, lane departure warning, sway warning, lead vehicle start alert, and full-speed dynamic radar cruise control. Both the AT and MT models have smart stop technology, vehicle stability control, anti-lock brakes, traction control, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, and vehicle stability control features.
LED headlights, a leather steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, electric power steering, dual exhaust, a tire pressure monitoring system, a backup camera, and an anti-theft alarm system round out the impressive list of features.
